That's about all I can say in Spanish -- but it'll come in handy tomorrow -- which is when we land in Mexico. Our destination is La Penita de Jaltemba, a small town I've already written about for the Montreal Gazette. I've been toying with the idea of not doing ANY WORK over this holiday -- but to be honest, I'm not sure I'll be able to do that. There's nothing harderfor me than DOING NOTHING!! Of course, I'll still write my diary every morning and about half of my suitcase is taken up by books... and I may -- just may -- bring along some of the George River manuscript....
Will try to write a couple of blog entries from there. But if you don't hear from me for a few days, picture me doing something very exotic: NOTHING!!!
Donde esta la playa by the way means "Where's the beach?" I also know how to say "Where's the bathroom?" "How much does that cost?" and "What's your name?" in Spanish. If you've got a holiday coming up too, enjoy every minute of it. Best best from Monique, er Monica!!

It must be nice to go away for March break, I'll be swamped with doctor appointments, volunteering, school work, skating... but I'm sure there are people out there who are even busier so I won't complain. Have fun at Mexico and bring the George river manuscript, and don't work too hard.  |

Ojala que tenga unas buenas vacaciones!  (I hope you have a nice vacation!) This is a great time to read this... I'm in the middle of writing my Spanish essay on the use and abuse of the Internet -- great timing! That being said, have a wonderful vacation down in Mexico (I loved it 3 years ago, when I was there for a student exchange), although I'm not convinced you'll do nothing... or rather, your idea of "nothing" is not quite the same as others'! So on Saturday, when you're relaxing on the nice, warm beach, I'll be at Jay Peak, my all-time favourite ski mountain except for the bitter cold at the summit!! And for the rest of the week, I've got enough schoolwork, flute practice, and figure skating sessions to keep myself busy... |
