Tomorrow morning, really early, I'm catching a plane to James Bay -- this time, I'm headed for a town called Mistissini. I'll be meeting up with photographer Thomas Kneubuhler and we'll be working with students at Voyageur School on the Quebec Roots project, sponsored by the Blue Metropolis Literary Foundation.
Thomas is already up there -- he's gone to the spend the weekend in a teepee! I'm here, organizing last minute stuff. My mum is still in hospital so I'll go to see her this evening. (She eats better when I'm there at meal times.)
I just bought a dozen bagels -- that's my usual present when I head to northern Quebec. (Montreal is famous for its bagels.) I've got half a dozen raisin bagels for Ethel Blackned, a consultant at the Cree School Board, and another half dozen sesame seed bagels for Brent, the teacher we'll be working with at Voyageur.

I'm due back Wednesday night, so expect another blog entry from me before the end of the week... and if I can manage it, one from Mistissini.
