Helloo helloo from the South Rim!

We're at the south rim of the Grand Canyon, and after our backpacks are loaded, we'll head down to the base of the canyon. We've got a laptop with us, but of course, we'll be out ofrange for a few days... which is probably one of the reasons this trip is a good idea. My husband and I are pretty hooked on our computers! But just so you know, I've got my trusty journal with me and it'll get stashed in the backpack. I can go a few days without a computer, but a day without writing? No way!!

An interesting thing you might not know about backpacking: the real pros travel as light as possible. Some of them don't even bring tents. The downside of that is they have to sleep outside in the open air. That's called "cowboy camping." 

Anyway, I just wanted to check in and say helloo. I'll write again when we rejoin civilization.
