Ever have one of those mornings that slipslides away? That's what's happening to me today. Luckily, though, I still have nearly two hours till I have to leave for school -- and I'm planning to use them more efficiently than I used the last three hours (though I did go for a run and I picked up some groceries en route).
My editor's second set of notes for the school bus story has landed, so now I've got to put aside my other writing work to attend to that. Melanie Jeffs (that's my editor's name) says the story is in pretty good shape, so hopefully, my task won't be too difficult.
I have a few things to tell you: First of all, my friend children's writer Marsha Skrypuch (I told you about her last week) pointed out an obvious flaw in this blog: nobody can write back!! So keep posted because I am attempting to fix that problem. (I have a feeling this blogging business is going to force me to get a little more technologically savvy!!)
My other news is that I got an email from Sapina Snowball (COOL name, no?!!), one of the students I met last year when I visited George River. Sapina is coming to Montreal with a few classmates for a career fair and she's going to try to fit in a visit with me. I'm delighted, not just because she is lovely and smart, but also because I CAN ASK HER STUFF ABOUT GEORGE RIVER!!
Can you believe it is already October 11? Fall seems to have finally arrived in Montreal. I hung the clothes outside yesterday, but in the end, they had to go into the clothesdryer. You probably don't know this about me unless you're one of my students (in which case I probably made you do an assignment about observing clotheslines in your neighbourhood), but I have an OBSESSION with clotheslines. More on that another time.Â
