Writing Snarky!!

That's writing snarky -- as opposed to feeling snarky. Actually, I'm in my usual mental state, which is generally friendly and mostly kind. But I'm WRITING SNARKY!! That's because when Sarah Harvey, my editor at Orca, and I had our phone "meeting" this week, she suggested that Noah, the protagonist in my latest book project could be a little snarkier. Now that's funfor a person like me to do -- since I'm usually so darned un-snarky. Maybe I'm a secret snark and it only comes out in my stories!!

So I'm going to get snarky right now. Then at 1:17 I have a live phone interview with Natasha Aimee Hall, who's interviewing me for her radio show on 940AM. It's a seven-minute interview about my last book, 121 Express, and if you know me, you probably know that talking is one of my specialties -- so the interview shouldn't be a problem. Okay then, off I go to get in touch with my inner, more-than-slightly-repressed snark!!

I suppose that's another advantage about being an author -- exploring all these ideas which you can't really carry out in real life because, well, snarky people aren't exactly appreciated. However, it's true that snarky characters are loads of fun to read about. And so I am now looking forward to seeing just how snarky Noah will turn out to be.
And wow... 1:17 is quite precise. As is a time length of seven minutes... so much for usual approximate numbers! Too bad I haven't been checking your blog daily recently... I would have liked to listen to your interview!

Hi miss, it's been a long time since I wrote a comment on your blog. =) There's a fomality about writing a comment, having perfect grammar and all - which I have not, so I'm going to skip it. No, I'm not like the Duke in Browning's poem actually knowing how to do things when he says " I do not such and such a skill...". I hoped the picturers for what world is left with your niece went well, I always like covers with real people in them, like Gathering Blue by Louis Lowry, it was so simple and captured the tone of the book so well. Alright, enough of me blabbing away! I hope your interview went well, but then again you don't need luck with your conversational/talking skills. Really bad grammar this time, but it's late, and I want to sleep... zzz....

Hey I know you! You came to my literacy class and your son goes to my school or something!
Im the girl with that heart Tattoo that I had to make, and I'm actually deciding to get that tattoo but a better one of it.
I read your book "On The Game" and I really liked it.
I feel much better than the day I met you, but I really liked your book not everything from that book connected with me but something like that did!
Thanks,

Lucy. E
